PURPOSE:To reduce a time for tool replacement, by performing the tool replacement with a main spindle as left in a rotating state. CONSTITUTION:If a tool replacement command is output from a numerical control device (NC), a switching circuit 86 is selected and a preset rotary speed command is given to a setter 85. Electrical brake torque is applied to a main spindle driving motor 31, then a main spindle 11 is rotated at low speed set for key engagement. Hereafter, a tool replacing arm is operated to hold a tool, then a proximity switch, confirming the main spindle 11 to be indexed to a fixed angle, is switched from its on state to off state. On the basis of change of this signal, an oil hydraulic device is actuated to extract the tool from the main spindle 11 and disengage a key of the main spindle 11 from a key groove of the tool. In this way, the key groove of the tool held by the tool replacing arm can be kept at a fixed angle position. |
