<p>The machine for the fabrication of pulley wheels by a hot-rolling process, produces the wheel from a plane disc, which is rotated while its periphery is heated and the half round rim of a wheel mounted rotatably on a parallel axle is pressed into its periphery. The size of the groove produced in the disc periphery corresponds to that of the metallic cable which it will receive, the plane disc having a dia slightly greater than that of the finished wheel. The disc is gripped by clutch type plates mounted on axles and converging from both sides to centre in a central disc hole and, thus, clamp the disc between them. The forming wheel is displaced via a ram normal to its axis of rotation to bear on the centre of the disc rim.</p> |
