The programmable digital timer comprises a clock, an input unit to enter the program data, an output unit to give ON and OFF signals at the chosen times to a connected appts., and a display unit. The display unit comprises segment panel and components used to program the timer and read the programmed ON and OFF times. In addition, another display (31,32) is provided and includes a series of e.g. LED segments, independently controlled by the timer. These segments are lit in order to show, for example, all the periods during which the output in ON. A switch is provided to provide a confirmation of the previously entered programme. This switch cooperates with another switch to confirm either the time for the ON state or the OFF state.
