<p>The container-handling spreader frame has locking pins at the four corners, turned together through 90 deg. between the engaged and free positions by a central horizontal drive spindle above it. A cam is mounted halfway along the spindle and turned with it through 90 deg. between two end positions, having two faces at right angles to each other, at the intersection of which the spindle runs and one face being parallel to the surface of the frame in each end position. A cam track runs diagonally in relation to the spindle and a weight engages in it, coupled by a rope to the crane hook. Thus the weight alternately tilts the cam in opposite directions, as the rope is slackened and tightened again.</p> |
