"PRETENSIONER FOR STRETCHABLE FILM WEB" A tensioner assembly pre-stretches a film web prior to unitizing a pallet load. The braking energy applied to the web feedstock roll is detected as the web is dispensed. A control circuit varies the rotational speed of a pretensioner drive roller as a function of the braking energy to obtain uniform stretching of the web. The film web is pre-stretched to a uniform tension in two stages before being wrapped around the palletized load. |
