<p>Alkylidene bicycloheptenes (I) are stabilised by a minor amount of a 1-8C alkyl-catechol, hydroquinone, a 1-8C alkyl-hydroquinone, or a mono-1-8C alkyl ether of hydroquinone. Pref. (I) are the 5-alkylidene-bicyclo /2,2,1/ hept-2-enes. Stabilisers include 4-methyl catechol, 4-t-butylcatechol, 4-(2-ethylhexyl) catechol. The stabilised alkylidenebicycloheptenes are used in the production of elastomers with ethylene and propylene.</p> |
