<p>The drive mechanism is for a chain with alternating vertical and horizontal closed links, having a sprocket whose teeth bear against the trailing ends of the horizontal links, while the vertical ones transmit the tension loads between the horizontal ones. The pattern of the sprocket teeth (9) is such that both the vertical (4) and horizontal links are positively driven. The engagement periods of successive vertical and horizontal links (5) always overlap. Each sprocket can have two sets of teeth, those in one set being offset from those in the other in the peripheral direction.</p> |
