<p>The system requires no crankshaft position detector for its operation, using instead a rotor having permanent magnets fixed symmetrically round its periphery. The permanent magnets pass a magnetic circuit (4,5) fixed to a stator. The magnetic circuit has a coil wound around it. As the rotor passes, an impulse is generated in the coil and this is of sufficient power to switch an electronic circuit (7) which discharges a fixed capacitor (11) through the primary winding (12) of the ignition coil, generating an ignition spark.</p> |
