The track for an armoured fighting vehicle has each side sectioned into two tandem trains. The two tandem sections are of unequal length and the longer sections are driven by engine driven sprockets (1). The smaller sections are connected to the main motor-drive group by a non-mechanical coupling. The engine can drive the tracks to rotate in opposition and has simultaneous drive to the main and secondary (3) drive sprockets.
