T-lymphocyte immunostimulant prepn. - contg. peptide T-activin isolated from thymus gland tissue

New preparations regulating the immunological T-system contain (in addition to a pharmaceutical vehicle) as active component peptides ("T-Activin") which have a molecular weight of 1500-6000 Dalton, UV absorption maxima at 208 and 275 nm, and an electrophoretic mobility in polyacrylamide gel relative to bromophenol blue of 0.062 to 0.102, 0.156 to 0.236, 0.354 to 0.374, 0.382 to 0.422, 0.432 to 0.472, 0.485 to 0.545, and 0.850 to 0.930.S The preparation causes re-establishment of immunohomeostasis and exerts a regulatory effect on the immune and haematopoietic system, and indirectly affects the immunological B system. It can thus be used for the treatment of a wide range of primary and secondary immunodeficient states, e.g. disorders of the immune system due to various tumours, inborn immunodeficient disorders (e.g. Lous-Barsyndrome), acute viral infections (e.g. Herpes Zoster), and certain other disorders involving disturbance of immune status (e.g. psoriasis, lupus erythematosus). Details and results of in vitro and in vivo biological tests with T-activin are given in the specification. Also given are results of clinical trials in children with lymphogranulonatosis.
