PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor easy in manufacture and high in strength, by forming an electrophotographic receptor containing a specified azo pigment as a charge generating substance, and a specified hydrazone compound as a charge transfer substance on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic receptor formed on a conductive substrate contains as a charge generating substance an azo pigment represented by the formulaeI, III, IV, V, VI, etc. in which R is H or optionally substituted alkyl, and A is the formula II, etc. (X is benzene, naphthalene, indole, carbazone, or benzofuran ring and their substituted compounds; Ar1, is benzene, naphthalene, or heterocyclic ring and their substituted compounds; and R1 is H or optionally substituted alkyl or phenyl), and as a charge transfer substance a hydrazone compound represented by the formula VII in which R is H, C1-3 alkyl or alkoxy, dialkylamino, halogen, nitro, or OH, and n is 1-5. |
