In an improvement in, or modification of, the thermo-electric ignition safety device of the parent Specification, a hairpin-like spring 61 serving to releasably couple an ignition safety valve body 18 to a relatively slidable valve stem 17 comprises two arms 612 at 60 degrees to each other, which lie between the body 18 and a clamping plate 48 secured to the body and normally engage a shoulder on the stem 17 e.g. formed by an annular groove in the stem, and two depending loop portions 614-616 protruding through apertures 63 in the plate 48, so that depression of an " off " button 34 causes the arms 32 of a bifurcated lever 31 to engage the loop portions and thereby disengage the spring 61 from the valve stem. A sleeve 62 serves to seal the valve body relative to the stem. The shape of the spring 61 is described in detail in the Specification.</p> |
