Overglaze colours (on-glaze colours) for formation of a protective film over an electrical circuit applied to a substrate, the production of a circuit of this type and the circuit itself are described. The overglaze colour and its starting material should be selected so that they are compatible with underlying layers of the circuit. To this end, the colour comprises a glass powder formed from lead oxide, a modifier containing the oxides of cadmium, zinc, barium and antimony, and a glass-forming component containing aluminium oxide, boron trioxide and silicon dioxide; the colour furthermore contains an organic carrier substance and if desired a colouring oxide.
