A fastener or other device to be attached to a fabric 11 comprises a plate 5 having a ridge 6 over which may be snapped a shell 1, a piece of fabric 4 having its periphery trapped between the ridge 6 and teeth 3 of the shell, and a fastener member 12 which is engaged by portions 10 projecting from the plate 5 so as to trap the fabric 11 between the parts and thereby secure the fastener on the fabric. The portions 10, as shown, are prongs which are forced into an annular cavity in the member 12 and bent over in that cavity. Instead of being integral with the plate 5, they may be part of a separate member and pass through an aperture in the plate. As shown, the fastener member 12 incorporates a socket for engagement by a stud secured to a further piece of fabric. |
