PURPOSE:To utilize biomass in high efficiency, by heating the biomass indirectly to recover the low-boiling components, and using the heat decomposition residue as the heat source. CONSTITUTION:Oil-containing vegetables such as Eucalyptus globulus, Elaeocarpus sylvestris, etc. is cut, dried in air, and used as the raw material. The raw material is subjected to dry distillation with an indirect-heating distiller at 180-200 deg.C, and the essential oil is separated in the condensing tank using steam of 6 times volume of the recovered vapor as a carrier. The distillation residue is decomposed in a furnace at 300-650 deg.C, and the produced gas is cooled and separated into com- bustible gas, condensate containing methanol,and tar. These naterials and the residual char are utilized as the heat source of the combustion furnace and the steam generator. Or the char is pulverized and mixed with tar, etc. to obtain a liquid fuel having market value. |
