Sausage case reinforced with thermoplastics - for strength and life

Sausage cases reinforced for long storage and mechanical strength by means of a carrier material made from two thermoplastically welded plies of viscose fibres with less than 50% thermoplastics binding fibres. The fibres in the lower layer at 20-50 g/m2 are random but those in the upper layer one third as heavy are arranged lengthways. The holes in this two-ply fleece are closed with a layer of gelatine, methyl cellulose or protein and the upper layer is coated in p.v.c. whose weight is that of the entire carrier.
