PURPOSE:To facilitate selection control of melody, by a device wherein another melody can be produced when a melody changing-over switch is actuated within a given period of time after sounding of the previous melody. CONSTITUTION:When a melody produced from a speaker 22 is completed, a counter 62 starts to count signals with constant frequency from a frequency dividing circuit 10. As a group of external operating sqitches 2 is operated in this state, the opened or closed states of the switch group 2 are stored in flip-flops 44, 46 and 48. At the same time, a flip-flop 30 is set so as to set a control circuit 24, melody completion detecting circuit 32 and oscillator 8 in the active state and hence to turn a transistor 34 ON. Data for the specified melody is read out from a ROM12 in accordance with the storage in the flip-flops 44, 46 and 48, thereby to produce the corresponding melody sounds. when a given period of time has lapsed after the completion of the melody, a counter 62 is reset to close AND gates 64, 66. In this state, any melody is not produced even when operating the switch group 2. |
