A front bumper (10) for a motor vehicle comprises a main section (11) which is arranged along the front end surface (E rho ) of the front vehicle housing, and two opposite side sections (12, 13) which lie along the side surfaces of the two opposite front mudguards (F rho ). The front bumper (10) has air-inlet openings (14) which guide the air flow to the rear side of the front bumper. Formed between the inner wall surface of each side section of the bumper and the side surface of the relevant front mudguard is an air-outlet opening (15) through which the air flow can escape to the side section of the motor-vehicle front housing. As a result, the occurrence of air-flow turbulence in the vicinity of the side sections of the bumper and the side surfaces of the front mudguard is prevented. <IMAGE>
