Heat insulating panels are placed between the rafters inside the roofs of buildings in order to prevent heat transmission. They are made pref. of expanded polystyrene. At least one side of each panel has a group of concertina-like corrugations, parallel to the rafters which give when compressed across the wavy profile. The height of the corrugations corresponds to the thickness of the panel. At the ends perpendicular to the rafters, the panels have a stepped rebate. This allows a ready adjustment to variations in the spacing of the roof rafters.
|
