PURPOSE:To enhance the energy conversion efficiency of a solar battery by extending a plurality of grid electrodes crossing perpendicularly to a ribbon-shaped to the end of the wafer in fine strip state of the prescribed pitch and in different width varying in accordance with the length. CONSTITUTION:A back surface electrode 4 is formed on one surface of a P type Si substrate 1, and central grids 6 of fine strip state are provided at the constant pitch in the central region 5 formed at an N type layer 2 on the other surface. Side grids 9, 10 are formed in the same fine strip state at the same pitch as the central grids on the side regions 7, 8, are wide at the center and are narrow at both ends. Ribbon-shaped leads 17, 18 are disposed perpendicularly to the grids between the central grids and the side grids, and are electrically connected to the respective grids. In this manner, the area opening ratio can be improvied to enhance the energy conversion efficiency of the solar battery. |
