PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease in the extent of phase shifting during high mean electric power operaion by reducing mechanical strain, by dividing the ferrimagnetic body of a waveguide type phase shifter. CONSTITUTION:A ferrimagnetic body 2 is arranged in contact with the upper and lower walls of a aveguide 1, and in the center of the magnetic body 2, a hole 3 is made to run a conductor 4 through it. Further, the magnetic body 2 is divided at prescribed position 5 to adequate length. Since heat generated by the magnetic body 2 is conducted to the waveguide 1 through the contact surface with the waveguide 1, the magnetic body 2 has temperature distribution high at the center part and low at the upper and lower surfaces, and at the center part, axial mechanical strain is generated, but the magnetic body is divided to the adequate length, thereby preventing the reduction of residual magnetization due to the mechanical strain. In addition, dielectrics, etc., softer than the magnetic body 2 are introduced into the division parts 5 of the magnetic body 2 to further improve strain accumulation preventing effect. |
