<p>PURPOSE:To remove colloidal sulfur from waste water and to recover sulfur, by subjecting the waste water discharged from a wet oxidizing deodorizer for removing offensive odors such as hydrogen sulfide to an extraction treatment using n-hexane. CONSTITUTION:Offensive odors due to hydrogen sulfide, etc. are removed by a wet oxidizing deodorizer using an alkali in the first cleaning step and a hypochlorite in the second cleaning step. Colloidal sulfur-contng. waste water discharged from the deodorizer is subjected to an extraction treatment using a n-hexane. Thereafter, the n-hexane containing extracted sulfur is distilled to recover sulfur.</p> |
