PURPOSE:To prepare a container having net like see-through openings and, especially, suitable for an chicken egg container by a method wherein a thermoplastic resin foamed sheet having many slits or pores preliminarily formed thereto is pulled and subjected to heating set to form a net like sheet and, thereafter, said net like sheet is molded into the container. CONSTITUTION:To a thermoplastic resin foamed sheet (e.g.; a foamed polystyrene sheet), slits or pores are preliminarily formed in a zigzag pattern and the resultant sheet is set by heating under a tension condition to form a net like foamed sheet. Next, said net like foamed sheet is preheated if necessary and, thereafter, molded by a conventional sheet molding process such as a compression molding process, a vacuum molding process or the like to obtain a container having net like see- through openings. Thereby, an egg container which is excellent in buffering property and air permeability and, further, can easily confirm shell gloss of a chicken egg, a broken egg or the like therein from the outside is simply obtained. |
