Flexible self-locking hose clamp - has ratchet plug and socket on plastics sheathed cable

The hose clamp is mfd. from steel cable (2) covered with a loose plastic sheath (28). A circular plug is fixed to one end of the cable. The plug contains a series of annular grooves which form a one way ratchet. A nipple (5) at the other end of the cable retains a socket (4). An annular groove (4c) close to the open end of the bore of the socket holds a spring wire clip which extends around approx. two thirds of the circumference. As the plug is pushed into the socket the clip engages successively into the ratchet grooves to retain the plug in place.
