PURPOSE:To drive only the necessary strands by a single driving system with simple construction by making an upper pinch roll common, and providing means of individually lifting lower pinch rolls for each strand. CONSTITUTION:Idle type lower pinch rolls 7, 8, 9 for each strand are disposed below a common upper pinch roll 2. During normal operation, a spacing S is maintained between the ingot 15 on the respective pinch rolls 7, 8, 9 and the roll 2, and the ingot 15 is flowed smoothly. If during normal operation the final end of the ingot 15 of a No.1 strand passes through a drawing device, the rod of a cylinder 11 provided to an upper frame 10 is extended to lift and move the lower pinch roll 7 in the direction of the roll 2 via a lever 14. Then, the ingot 15 receives the driving power of the roll 2 and is flowed smoothly even after the passing through of the tail, whereby it is fed to a cutter, etc. on the down stream. |
