<p>PURPOSE:To correctly discriminate travel speed at the time of recording and to set it as reproducing seed, by comparing the cycle of a reproducing control signal with two different reference values set in advance. CONSTITUTION:The cycle TCTL of the reproducing control signal from a control head 6 is detected by a frequency detector 9. When the fact that the reproducing speed of a magnetic tape 1 arrives at a constant level is detected by a frequency detector 10, a microprocessor 12 compares the cycle TCTL with reference cycles TS and TL set in an external memory 13. As a result, when it is TCTL<TS, the reproducing speed is set at speed lower than that, and when it is TL<TCTL, it is set at the speed higher than that. Also, when it is TS<TCTL<TL, the set value of the reproducing speed is kept unchanged. In such a way, even when a various kinds of tape travel speed exist at the time of recording, it is possible to discriminate the travel speed at the time of recording correctly, and to set it as the reproducing speed.</p> |
