Slide valve for controlling the connection between a pump and a load acted upon by the latter or an outlet, the slide being displaceable in a bore of the housing of the slide valve and having openings which, in certain positions of the slide, interact with passages in such a way that, in one position, the connections to the load are optionally shut off and the pump is connected to the outlet or, in another position, the pump is optionally connected to a connection leading to the load and the other connection leading to the load is connected to an outlet, a connection to a restriction point being provided in the slide and that, in this connection, a valve (40) is provided in the slide, which valve controls the flow through the restriction point (30 or 31) as a function of the pressure prevailing.
