PURPOSE:To readily obtain an airtight terminal of high quality by electrically plating Ni on a metallic member, sealing it with glass and then soldering other member thereto. CONSTITUTION:Ni is efficiently coated by a barrel plating method on metallic outer and inner rings 1, 2. The rings are then heated together with glass tablet with a graphite jig in neutral atmosphere to fusion-bond molten glass to the rings 1,3, are then cooled, are further airtightly insulated via glass 2 and are sealed. Since the molten glass does not creep to the upper surface of the inner ring 2 due to the intermediary of the Ni plating, glass crack or improper solder does not occur. Then, silver solder material and repeating teminal 4 are disposed on the ring 3 as it is, are heated in neutral atmosphere, and are then soldered. Then, damage and contamination can be reduced, the Ni plating surface can be smoothed at high temperature, the solder does not expand more then required, dose not flow to the sealing boundary of the glass 2, desired amount of solder can be secured at the soldered part, and its strength is not reduced. |
