In a pressure swing adsorption process based on a carbonmolecular sieve as the adsorbent, a gaseous mixture containing H20 or CO2, for example air saturated with water at ambient temperature, is regenerated at a pressure not below atmospheric pressure -- contrary to prior methods wherein it was considered that a regeneration pressure of not more than 10:0 mm Hg was necessary in order to eliminate water molecules from the carbon molecular sieve so as to avoid a buildup in water molecules. The process provided herein is thus inexpensive from an energy viewpoint compared to the procedures of the prior art.
|
