<p>PURPOSE:To realize the stable control of an actuating device which secures a pressure contact between a pinch roller and a capstan with a small amount of energy, by reventing a shift o a mode in which the actuating device using the motor power is made inactive by means of an electromagnetic means. CONSTITUTION:When the reproduction mode is selected by a button 68, the conduction is secured between a control circuit 64 and a coil 42. At the same time, a motor 44 is turned in the direction of an arrow 50, and then a cam 12 is turned via a single-way clutch 46 to turn a cam follower 14 toward an arrow 22. While the displacement of a differential rod 18 is controlled by a start lever 28 adsorbed to a magnetic core 40.
