PURPOSE:To obtain sharp images in high humidity environment as well by coating the surfaces of photoconductor particles with curable cyclized rubber, forming a photoconductive layer with a thermoplastic resin as a binder, and providing an insulation layer on the photoconductive layer via the curable cyclized rubber layer. CONSTITUTION:Powder of a photoconductor such as CdS is dispersed in a soln. prepd. by dissolving curable cyclized rubber such as polybutadiene rubber into a solvent such as xylene to coat the surfaces of the powder, after which the cyclized rubber is cured while the solvent is being removed by heating. The soln. prepd. by dispersing such coated CdS powder into a soln. of a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer or the like is coated on a conductive substrate and is dried, whereby a photoconductive layer is formed. Next, the curable cyclized rubber soln. is coated on the photoconductive layer and is dried to form a sealed layer (to prevent the solvent and the like of the insulation layer from attacking the photoconductive layer). Finally, an insulation layer of a photosetting acrylic urethane resin or the like is formed on the sealed layer. In this way, the photoreceptor which is highly resistant to moisture, has excellent adhesive strength between the layers and by which sharp images are obtainable is provided. |
