The invention relates to a holder for the filing of periodicals, brochures and other folded materials in files, hanging files or snap-fit binders. The object of the invention is to provide a simple and cost-effective holder in which periodicals, brochures and other folded materials can be held in a perfectly oriented manner and accommodated in folders, removal from the files and binders being possible without destruction or undesired uncovering of larger or smaller areas of the material to be filed. The invention is that the holder consists of a rail which possesses a number of holes along and close to one of the lengthwise sides, which correspond to the files, hanging files or snap-fit binders currently in use as regards the clips or rings used therein, and close to the other lengthwise side it has a slot, extending substantially parallel thereto, of a length which corresponds to the maximum height of the material to be filed, while the width of the slot is designed to correspond to half the thickness of the material.
