PURPOSE:To display the color of a scattering color filter regardless of the axis of deflection of a deflecting film by arranging the scattering color filter at a background part where the display of a liquid crystal cell does not change, and shifting the deflection of light at the background part. CONSTITUTION:Substrates 1A and 1B which have a couple of electrodes 2A and 2B are arranged having their electrodes surface opposite each other and their periphery is sealed with a peripheral seal 4; and liquid crystal 5 is charged therein to constitute the liquid crystal cell and a couple of polarizing films 6A and 6B are arranged on the screen of the liquid crystal cell. Further, a back light 7 is arranged on the opposite side from an observation side and the scattering color filter 3 is arranged at the background part where the display of this liquid crystal cell does not change. The color of this filter 3 is nearly equalized to the nontransmission color of the couple of polarizing films 6A and 6B and the filter 3 is formed on the electrode 2A and between the substrate 1A and electrode 3B. The filter 3 is formed by printing and made blue to make an irregularity in the transmissivity of the background part inconspicuous, thereby making the part of the display part bright. |
