PURPOSE:To smooth a magnetic disk in a short time, by giving a light load to a working head, arraying plural working heads to cover all tracks of the magnetic disk and then performing the burnishing with contact, start and stop. CONSTITUTION:plural light load head for working 5 are arrayed to cover all tracks of a magnetic disk 7. A head bar 6 of the heads 5 is rotated from the position of a stopper 10 by a step motor 9 and a gear after the disk 7 is loaded to a spindle 8 and set with a height of about 2.22mm. for example, from the surface of the disk 7. When the spindle 8 is rotated, both the disk 7 and the heads 5 have a contact start and then a contact stop after a steady rotation for a set time. In this case, the heads 5 float up on the surface of the disk 7 with a low level of spacing to give the working on the surface of the disk 7. In such way, the surface of the disk 7 can be smoothed in a short time. |
