NEW MATERIAL:An L-argininal derivative shown by the formula I (A is a group shwon by the formula II, R-X-(X is -CONH-, -SO2NH-; R is amino, amino protected by benzyloxycarbonyl, 2-5C alkenyl, etc.)] and its nontoxic salt. EXAMPLE:Benzoyl-L-leucyl-L-argnininal hydrochloride. USE:A drug having enzyme inhibiting activity. Having strong inhibiting action on serine protease and thiol protease, it is expected as a drug like leuheptyne. PROCESS:An L-leucyl-L-argininal with its aldehyde group protected is reacted with a reactive derivative of phthalic acid, a dialkyl acetal is removed, and, if necessary, other protecting groups are removed to give a compound shown by the formula I. |
