<p>Phytopathogenic fungi are controlled by applying to seeds, seedlings or plants or their location a cpd. of formula (I), (where X is O or S; R1 is opt. substd. alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylalkenyl, phenoxyalkyl or phenylthioalkyl; and R2 is opt. substd. phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylalkenyl, phenoxyalkyl or phenylthioalkyl). Cpds. (I) in which R2 is substd. phenyl or opt. substd. phenylalkyl, phenylalkenyl, phenoxyalkyl or phenylthioalkyl when R1 is methyl or phenyl are new and claimed. They may be prepd. by reacting a cpd, R1R2Nq with a compound of formula (II):- (where (a) one of q and y is H and the other is -CX-halogen or (b) q is H and Y is -CX-(1-imidazolyl)) or, when R1 and R2 are not both substd. phenyl, by alkylating cpds. of formula (III), (where R3 is opt. substd. alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylalkenyl, phenoxyalkyl or phenylthioalkyl).</p> |
