PURPOSE:To produce a heating effect without deteriorating running performance, by placing a heat accumulation vessel outside a combustion chamber and providing an electric heater in the vessel. CONSTITUTION:Fuel from a fuel injection valve 21 is atomized and burned in an evaporating section 23 to produce a high-temperature gas flow to directly heat a passage 24. The gas is released through a flue 24c. A heat accumulator 25 in a heat accumulation vessel 26 accumulates heat from the high-temperature gas flow. A fluid to be heated is directly heated at the end 24f of a combustion cylinder 24 and further heated on the peripheral surface of the vessel 26 and then sent out through an outlet port 27b. When the temperature of the heat accumulator 25 has reached a prescribed level, the combustion is stopped. In charging by an external power source, an electric heater 22 is energized to accumulate heat. |
