High output solenoid motor - has axially spaced rotor discs with offset peripheral pole teeth enclosing DC energising winding

The motor has a stator (1) with a number of projecting poles (11,12) and a single-phase energising winding. The rotor has a pair of rotor discs (22,23) mounted on a common rotor axis at a given axial spacing, with a D.C. energising winding supported by the rotor axis between them. The two rotor discs (22,23) have opposing polarities and the peripheral pole teeth (22a,23a) are offset by half the pole spacing. The stator poles (11,12) have curved pole faces enclosing the rotor, with pole teeth (11a,12a) at the same spacing as the rotor pole teeth (22a,23a). A capacitor is coupled in series or parallel with the stator energising winding supplied from an AC source. The motor provides a high output power.
