Boom clamp for sail-board - has separate booms hinged near clamp and with friction grip jaws engaging mast

The free ends of the booms are clipped together to form the sail support while the front ends of the booms have hooked ends, hinged about an axis parallel to the mast, at the tops of the hooks, and with a clamping jaw (11,12) on the inside of each hook. The linking of the free ends causes the hooks to swivel and the jaws to grip the mast. The pivot axis is provided by a hollow rivet (13). To release the clamps the free ends of the booms are unclipped and crossed over. The boom is rapidly secured at the required height without any tools and with a min. of effort.
