PURPOSE:To obtain a card carrier device for changing over a mode, by providing a cover on a hand insertion part, and raising or lowering this cover. CONSTITUTION:When plural checks or promissory notes 1 are placed one upon another on a hopper 2, one sheet each is carried to a hand insertion part 3. In case when there is a slip in the hand insertion part 3, the check or promissory note 1 is carried to an MICR printing part by executing a prescribed input from the keyboard, is printed and is stored in a stacker part 5. On the hand insertion part 3, a cover 6 is provided so that the ckeck or promissory note 1 can be inserted from the hand insertion part 3 by opening the cover 6. Also, opening and closing of the cover 6 is detected by providing a switch 7 fitted into the cover 6, and by this signal, a mode as to whether the hopper 2 is used or the hand insertion part 3 is used is set. |
