<p>The manual boat drive oar (1) has at one end, a grip (2) and at the other end a blade. The oar pivots in a horizontal axis (4) fixed to a gimbal (5) fitted to the rear (7) of the boat so that the oar moves in the longitudinal vertical boat plane. The blade consists of two half blades (3a,3b) which can fold automatically so that they are virtually in the same plane parallel to the shaft axis (4) when moving towards the boat to offer minimum resistance.</p> |
