PURPOSE:To obtain a stabilizer for finely dispersing a pearl gloss agent in a shampoo composition by a method wherein three kinds of specific monomers are copolymerized in a specific ratio and the resultant copolymer is converted to an amphoteric polymer corresponding to a polymer prepared by modifying said copolymer with a haloacetate. CONSTITUTION:25-70wt% monomer shown by formula I, 20-60wt% monomer shown by formula II and 0-20wt% other monomer copolimerizable with monomers shown by the formula I and II (wherein R<1> and R<5> are hydrogen atom or a methyl group respectively, R<2> is an 1-4C alkylene group, R<3> and R<4> are an 1-18C alkyl group, R<6> is an 1-18C saturated or unsaturated alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group, A is an oxygen atom or a NH group) are copolymerized and, thereafter, the resultant copolymer is modified by a haloacetate. The obtained modified copolymer is useful as a stabilizer finely dispersing a pearl gloss agent in an aqueous shampoo composition in the absence of a cationic cellulose ether. |
