A method of inspecting the leakage of a liquid storage tank (1) due to the decrease or the increase of the pressure in the tank which includes the steps of discharging a part of storage liquid (6) from the tank (1) for storing the liquid to reduce the pressure of the tank (1), examining the variation of the pressure in the tank (1) with respect to time, then setting the tank (1) at atmospheric pressure, patting the discharged liquid back in the tank to put the tank in a pressurized state, and examining the variation of the pressure in the tank with respect to the time. A device for inspecting the leakage of a liquid storage tank (1) due to the decrease or the increase of the pressure in the tank which comprises a vent tube (2) connected to the tank (1) to be inspected, a weighing tube (3), a liquid feed tube (4), a liquid suction tube (5), an airtight container (7), a pressure increasing or decreasing pump (8) connected to the container (7) and a manometer (11) and barograph (10) connected to the tube (3). |
