PURPOSE:To facilitate white balance adjustment, by providing a light diffusing plate, which is changed from the transparent state to the semitransparent state by applying of a voltage, in the optical path of the photographic optical system and by switching this light diffusing plate to the semitransparent state only for white balance adjustment. CONSTITUTION:A diffusion factor variable filter 7 constituted by sealing matters such as liquid crystal, where the light diffusion factor is changed by applying of a voltage, between two parallel glass plates is provided between photographic lenses 5 provided in front of an image pickup tube 6 in a color video camera. When a trigger button 9 of the camera 4 is depressed, a projecting part 11 turns on a switch 8, and a voltage is applied to the filter to change the transparent state to the semitransparent state, and a white balance adjusting circuit is operated. When the botton 9 is depressed furthermore, the switch 8 is turned off, and the filter 7 is returned to the transparent state, and a switch 10 is turned on to operate the image pickup device. |
