<p>A machine incorporating vertical extrusion downwards to produce a tubular parison which is nipped off by a split mould closing horizontally with only a few tenths of a clearance below the extrusion die. Pref. the two mould halves are moved by a single hydraulic system to obtain mutual opening and closing motions of both platens. The control units are stacked in an integral cabinet. For extrusion blow moulding, esp. of small containers or bottles. Requires minimal floor space. Prefd. designs can be operated or serviced when installed side by side in a straight row. Does not require separate parison cut-off mechanism, can operate on short cycles, e.g. 4 secs.</p> |
