This invention relates to a method of restoring the activity of a gallium/aluminosilicate catalyst system. Such systems get deactivated in use. Such loss of activity in long term use can only be restored by subjecting the system to a sequence of oxidation and reduction treatments. The catalyst systems are useful for hydrocarbon conversion reactions, especially for dehydrocyclodimerisation of paraffins and olefins to aromatics.
