PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced picture that closely resembles to the original picture by generating and recording a composite video signal that contains a synchronizing signal, black level signal and video signal in a scanning period, and taking out the synchronizing signal from the signal when reproducing, and reproducing d.c. component from reproduced black level. CONSTITUTION:At the time of video recording, a composite video signal containing a black level signal is generated during a scanning period or in a section where there is no video signal and delayed for a specified time from the synchronizing signal and recorded in a VTR10. When the reproducing composite video signal PCVS is reproduced, the reproducing synchronizing signal PT1 is separated by a synchronizing signal separator 12 and a reproducing black level recording time zone PT2 delayed for a specified time is detected by a black level recording time zone detector 13 on the basis of the signal PT1. The reproducing black level signal PSB of the signal PT2 in the signal PCVS held in a sampling and holding device 14 is extracted, and the difference between the signals PCVS and PBS is determined by a differential amplifier 15, and d.c. reproduced signal PDC is outputted. |
