PURPOSE:To improve operation performance and prevent damage when a ship collides with a floatage in navigation by releasing tilt stop state, by permitting setting and releasing operation for tilt stop and reverse lock by means of a control lever. CONSTITUTION:In order to tilt-up a propelling unit in the case shown by the solid line where an outboard machine is tilted-down and reverse locked, a control lever 13 is turned clockwise. A lock arm 26 and a lock clutch 28 are lifted counterclockwise against a spring 32 through a lock ring 18, and the interlink of the hook part 28a and a rod 29 is released, and reverse lock is released. In this state, a propelling unit is tilted-up by using both hands. At this time, as engaging shaft 11 is lifted, drawing a circle having a supporting shaft 5 as a center. When the engagement shaft 11 contacts with the terminal end of a sliding groove 9, further tilting-up is prevented, afterwards, and the propelling unit is kept at the rising position by the engagement with the engaging step part 10 of the shaft 11. |
