PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a stem film, and to improve the cooling efficiency, by providing a cooling surface for a hot steel sheet with plural cooling water guides facing each other with a prescribed gap for flowing the cooling water through this gap in a turbulent condition. CONSTITUTION:A hot steel sheet 4 running out of a rolling mill 3 is conveyed by a table roller 2 set on a stand 1 into a cooling apparatus. Plural cooling water guides are retained in one body by a frame 10; then, the frame 10 is put down upon the surface of the steel sheet 4 by a hydraulic cylinder 12. The gap between the steel sheet 4 and the cooling water guides 5 installed above and below the steel sheet 4 is kept at a prescribed size by guide rollers 6 touching at the steel sheet 4. The plural cooling water guides 5 are flexibly energized by springs 17 against the steel sheet 4 independently of each other, so that even if the steel sheet 4 has a camber or a waviness, the rollers 6 always secure the constant gap. The cooling water is supplied from a water pipe 19 into the cooling water guides 5, and is sprayed from the cooling water nozzles 18, and flows through the narrow gap between the steel sheet 4 and the cooling water guide 5, and effectively cools the steel sheet 4. |
