The impregnated fleece has its surface preheated before it contacts the first intake roller of the heating chamber to form a solid skin on the fleece and thus avoid contamination in the heating chamber. The fleece is transported through the heating chamber by perforated drums that apply a suction to the fleece and around which the fleece winds.
